Our Story

Skylark Himalayan Travels & Treks, established in 2013, has become known as one of the best Nepalese companies around for rafting, trekking, travel and adventure activities. The company has extensive experience of running tours, white water rafting, wildlife and trekking across the Himalayas of Nepal.

The company was named by Tara Prasad Gautam, the company’s founder, after the famous bird, the skylark, which is found in the Himalayas and which he loves to see and hear on his travels around his country.

Skylark Himalayan have a team of wonderful leaders, guides and office staff: chosen because they are interesting people that Tara knows well and you will love. Beyond that though, the company provides continual training and has high expectations that are well beyond the industry standard. The vast majority of its guides have, wilderness first aid, child protection and animal rights training. The majority of guides working with Skylark Himalayan have eight to 10 years experience, or more, and are committed to give you a trekking trip of a lifetime.
